Public procurement refers to the procedures initiated by a public body to acquire goods and/or services. These clients are mainly from traditional sectors such as governments and municipalities, as well as special sectors such as transportation, energy, and water. The main actors are the contracting authority (the public body who wants to buy goods or services) and the tenderer (the supplier who responds to the tender).
